Lubricant conveyed by mechanical means.-In a grease-box for axles or transmission bearings in which lubricant is raised by a rotating scoop or segment to a reservoir communicating with the axles or bearings the segment is so shaped as to reduce agitation of the oil. The segment 25, rotated by a cranked arm 25<1> attached to the axle 8 and balanced by a weight 160, is of spindle shape, formed by an annulus bounded by outer and inner edges 25<2>, 25<3> with bevel faces and end facets and the edges ab, cd cut by inclined faces 170.
