Abstract

319,906. Potter, H. S. Sept. 5, 1928. Board games; card games. -Relates to apparatus for playing a race game of the kind in which racing objects are moved forwardly over the divisions of a board representing a race course in accordance with cards dealt from a pack during the game, and embodying the principle of the totalizator, and comprises a board, Fig. 1, divided into a number of areas 1 - - 10 representing stages of progress and a number of tracks 6 extending across the areas from first to last, a number of racing objects, and for each of the racing objects two groups of cards, Figs. 4 and 5, each card being marked to identify it with the corresponding object. The tracks 6 are raised from the board and are straddled by the racing objects. The totalizator cards, Fig. 4, are sold to the players for counters, the resulting pool being divided at the conclusion of a race amongst the holders of cards corresponding to the winning object. The cards shown in Fig. 5 are those used in determining the movements of the racing objects. A third series of cards, Fig. 7, may be used in connection with a separate pool for " doubles " each card corresponding to four possible winning combinations.
