Abstract
318,696. Thurston, A. P., (Fuller-Lehigh Co.). June 27, 1928. Plastic compositions containing water-glass, glycerine, and oil.-To a moderately refractory water-glass cement of high heat conductivity for furnace linings, containing pulverulent metal, or metallic compounds, such as iron, copper, carborundum, haematite, copper oxide &c., glycerine and oil are added to prevent drying before use. In an example, 100 parts carborundum, 40 parts water glass. 20 parts glycerine and 2 parts castor oil are used.
