Abstract

In a method of preparing copper, particularly for use as a portion of an evacuated electric appliance such as a vacuum switch or a water-cooled vacuum tube, silicon and calcium boride are added to the molten copper in such quantity as to leave an excess in the copper. About 0,03 per cent of silicon and 0,55 per cent of calcium boride may be used.
