318,211. Sondermann & Co. Aug. 31, 1928, [Convention date]. Addition to 297,778. Right to Patent relinquished. Yarns and threads; processes.-The untwisted threads, while being unwound directly from the wound form in which they are received from the spinning machine and without previous re-winding, are subjected to the sizing treatment described in the parent Specification whereby the individual filaments are pasted together so permitting the threads to be used for weaving or knitting. The bobbins, reels or cakes are assembled in a creel, and from thence the individual threads, suitably separated, are conducted through the sizing apparatus; after drying, the threads are wound parallel on a roll if the threads are to be used for warp, or alternatively as cops or bobbins for use as weft. The threads may be bleached before sizing; or the unbleached threads may be sized, and the bleaching carried out on the fabric, conveniently during the removal of the size. Similarly, in the case of viscose silk, the removal of the sulphur and of the size may be carried out simultaneously.
