Plastic compositions containing soluble silicates; metallic and metallic-oxide cements and plastic compositions.-Compositions for use as paints, plasters, cements. putties, fillers, etc. consist of zinc oxide or magnesium oxide, or a mixture of the two, with a water-soluble silicate, such as sodium silicate, and a metallic sulphate adapted to re-act with the metal oxide used, for example zinc sulphate with zinc oxide or magnesium sulphate with magnesium oxide. A powdered metal may be used as a filler, the composition when set having the appearance of metal.
