Abstract

A filling composition comprises a mixture of a major proportion of plaster of Paris and a smaller proportion of dextrine and an inert water absorptive filler in approximately equal amounts. As filler are specified infusorial earth, Fuller's earth, tripoli and finely powdered volcanic ash. In an example the proportions by weight are plaster of Paris 32, dextrine 4, volcanic ash 4, with if desired, a pigment. The composition may be used for producing casts, in woodwork for filling cracks &c., as an electrical insulator for coating wires, for caulking boats, filling floor cracks, as a cement for wood and fibrous materials and for pipe joints.
