Fluid-actuated valves; valves fitted with supplementary valves.-A supplementary valve or throttling device, for regulating the flow from the service pipe. into a cistern when the float controlled valve f is opened, comprises a plunger k drawn by the pressure of the flow into a tapered passage a<1> in the shank which terminates in the outlet e and is attached to the service pipe by a coupling-nut b. The plunger is carried on a rod k<1> passing through a boss in an apertured guidedisc j threaded into the end of the shank, a retracting-spring m being adjustably compressed between a lock-nut n and the disc j. Bosses n<1> and j<3> are provided on the nut and disc to prevent complete closure of the passage in the event of failure of the spring.
