Abstract

Wood-screws.-Screws for use in securing the boards of packing-cases are provided with slots or holes through the heads thereof for accommodating the binding wires or bands of the case. As shown in Fig. 3, the screw-heads 1 are slotted so that, when the screws are screwed home in the boards 6, the boards 5 will lie close against the wood. The screw shown in Fig. 2 is for use with wired cases and has a pair of holes intersecting at right-angles.
