Mixing solids with fluids in flow.-Soft or other soaps are continuously or intermittently delivered as suds from drums, barrels, or other bulk containers by the apparatus shown. Hot or cold water or other liquid is passed under pressure through a pipe 3 ending in a jet 5 in a mixer 7 so that concentrated soap solution in a chamber 1 is drawn through perforations 8 and air is sucked in down a pipe 14. The mixture is delivered through a pipe 6 preferably fitted with a strainer 16. The solution in the chamber 1 is formed by placing therein soft or other soap, and admitting water through a by-pass 9 or perforations in the lower end of the pipe 3 or, where only small quantities of suds are delivered periodically, by letting the water below the valve 4 on the pipe 3 drain on to the soap. When aeration is not required the pipe 14 may be omitted. The perforations 11, 12, 13 in the pipe 9 may be arranged to spurt water not only on to the pipes 3, 6, 14 but also on to the chamber walls. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes the formation and delivery of solutions, suspensions, or emulsions of solid, semi-solid, or liquid materials by the apparatus. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
