Abstract

315,268. Krupp Germaniawerft Akt.- Ges., F. July 10, 1928, [Convention date]. Flexible shaft couplings. - The outer and inner members A, B of a flexible shaft coupling are connected by packs C of spring blades c<1> - - c' engaging grooves D, E in the parts A, B, alternate blades c<2>, c<4> and c', c<3> of each pack being rigidly held in the grooves D and E respectively, as by enlarged ends gripped by lateral retaining-rings F, G, so that relative sliding occurs between the blades on bending and produces a damping-effect. The grooves D may merge into flaring surfaces d', against which the packs C abut on excessive load, as shown in Fig. 1. The blades may be interleaved with renewable wearing-plates of brass or other soft sheet metal.
