Abstract

Thermionic relays.-To ensure the operation of a relay 2 actuated by a contact on a travelling band meeting a fixed contact, a condenser 5 is placed directly on the grid circuit of a thermionic valve 1 and is shunted by a high resistance 7, and the side of the condenser connected to the grid is brought into contact with the positive terminal of the filament 9 when the contacts 3, 6 meet, and an anode current of increased duration is consequently produced. The relay is arranged in the anode circuit and has contact-holding means, such as a second winding.
