Spiked plates.-The canvas seating A of a chair is secured in position by means of a metal plate B attached to, or secured in a slot in, one or both ends of the seating and carrying ping or spikes b which project through the canvas and are forced into the transverse rails of the chair frame. The plate B may be concave on one side, to fit closely to the transverse rail.
