Abstract

313,934. Johnson, J. Y., (I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges.). Jan. 14, 1928. Insecticides; furmigants.-Organic bases resulting from the reaction of an aliphatic hydrocarbon containing more than one double bond with a nitrogenous base in the presence of an alkali metal are agents for the destruction of pests. They may be used alone or in combination, or with other unsaturated bases, or as constituents of preparations. Aqueous solutions, suspensions or emulsions are particularly suitable and may be prepared with the aid of a dispersing agent such as soap or an aromatic sulphonic acid. Some of the products are powerful insecticides when vaporized. Products obtained in examples include tributenylamine, methyldibutenylamine. N - butenylpiperidine, N-mono-and dibutenylaniline. N-methylbutenylaniline, N-ethyl-butenylaniline, N- n-amylenylpiperidine, a mixture of mono-, di-, tri-, and tetrabutenylethylene diamine, a mixture of mono- and dibutenylcyclo-hexylamine, methyl diisoamylenylamine, and n-butyl diisoamylenylamine.
