Abstract

A disinfectant dry cleaning composition comprises an aqueous solution of formaldehyde dispersed in a preponderating quantity of a dry cleaning solvent, preferably white spirit or trichlorethylene. The quantity of water used should be such that when the solvent has evaporated from treated material, the material appears to be dry. If necessary to produce a stable dispersion, an oil-soluble anionic, non-ionic or cationic dispersing agent may be used. Specification 838,852 is referred to.
