Abstract

313,843. Merckx, R. Dec. 24, 1928. Addition to 289,881. Capillary-action lubricaling.-A lubricating-pad for axle-boxes, as described in the parent Specification, is supported by a cylindrical frame 1 made of sheet metal secured by rivets 3. Projections 2 prevent the pad from being cut by the ends of the cylinder. The pad consists of an inner layer of soft felt or composite material and an outer layer of cotton or wool, and is secured to the frame by wire passing through the boles 4.
