Abstract
313,540. Brown, Boveri, et Cie Akt.- Ges., Abteilung Installationen. Jan. 13, 1928. Addition to 275,210. Insulators.-In suspension insulators as described in the parent Specification, the expanding members 4 which support the bolt 2 in the insulator cavity are provided on the faces abutting on the ledge 6 of the cavity with a covering 7 of relatively soft material such as lead. This covering is preferably formed of a small plate, the edges of which are turned up against the sides of the members 4 and may be applied by laying an annular plate against the bearing faces of the members 4 and cutting open the intervening parts by radial incisions. The members 4 and the connecting ring 5, which is preferably circular in section, may be made of malleable cast iron, and may be cast integral with the bolt 2. A sleeve 10 maintains the members 4 in their operative position and is retained by hooks 11 formed on depending arms 9 thereon.
