Abstract

Reel and endless web apparatus; endless chain and like carriers, apparatus with; optical apparatus, application of.-In signs of the type in which a moving transparency located between a source of light and an inclined mirror is seen by reflection in the mirror, the design &c. on the transparency 3 is distorted in form in a direction at right angles to the direction of travel of the transparency, and the distortion is rectified bv a cylindrical lens 5 arranged between the transparency and the mirror 6. Thetransparency comprises an endless band passing over rollers 8, 9, one of which is adjustably fixed on its support to secure tautness of the band. The band may be built up of two feed tapes 10, Fig. 4, connected together by film sections 11 notched to take under heated studs 12 on the tapes, the sections being thus removably held with their adjacent edges overlapping.
