Abstract

1,085,661. Moving signs. K. H. SAMUEL. Jan. 8, 1965 [Jan. 17, 1964], No. 877/65. Heading G5C. In a moving monogrammic sign, light guides 22 are illuminated selectively by light passing from lamps 13 through light-transmitting regions in a moving band 25. The band may be perforated opaque paper or an exposed and developed photographic film, and light-transmitting coloured material may be arranged over the light-transmitting regions. The guides 22 may be of glass or synthetic plastics and are matt at their display faces 221 and polished at their other ends. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown), end-pieces 223 are omitted and the guides 22 are uniform in cross-section and extend parallel to one another.
