313,137. Wit, M. de, and Wit, W. de. June 8, 1928, [Convention date]. Impulse and reaction meters.-The blades of a paddle wheel fit closely between the side walls 12 and the recess 8 of a trough 6 and the space between the successive blades is shaped so that its highest point at the moment of closing of the interblade space by the recess 8 is below the level of the liquid which is maintained by a weir 7. The spindle 9 of the paddle wheel is mounted in the hinged cover 13. In order to permit air to escape from the interblade spaces the blades are made thinner at their edges than at the middle. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) the paddle wheel may have discs on its sides, in which case vents are provided for each measuring chamber. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
