Combing-machines. -In a Roth aspirator for collecting the waste from a cotton combing - mac h i n e the collecting drum is formed of very fine mesh wire gauze, for example, 900 openings per square inch. The ends 22 of the main drum 16 may be inset and the gauze, which may be soldered in position, overlain by reinforcing rings 23, or the main body of the drum may overlie the gauze 21. The condensing roller 24, which consolidates the waste on the drum, is arranged to bear on the outer surface of the main part 16 of the drum.
