Abstract

311,974. Napier, G. A. June 29, 1928. Elastic - diaphragm pressure gauges, mounting-details for.- A pressure gauge of the diaphragm type has a valve for cutting off the supply of the pressure element when a predetermined pressure is reached in order to prevent derangement of the gauge. The pressure element passes through an orifice 18 in a screwed plug 17 and passes between a valve 11 and its seating 15 and enters the longitudinal bore of a diaphragm support 6 to elevate the upper half 10 of the diaphragm box 5. A rod 8 carrying the valve is automatically elevated to the same extent and if the pressure be sufficient the valve engages with its seating and passage of further pressure element is prevented. The pressure at which this occurs can be altered by adjusting the position of the valve on the rod by means of a nut 12.
