Automatic flash signals.-An alarm or signal for giving notice of movement of pedestrians or vehicles comprises an electrically ignited magnesium flash light, the switches to complete the circuit being closed by pneumatic means under the pressure exerted by a foot or wheel. The body a of the device contains a battery b arranged below the magnesium cartridge d, the flange d<1> or which is held securely by springs. The filament a is embedded in the flash material and is held by contact pieces f which are connected in circuit with the battery and the terminals k. The bridge I for these terminals is carried by a piston i in a cvlinder h to which is attached a flexible bag m of rubber or the like. When this bag is compressed, the piston i is operated to cause the bridge l to close the gap across the terminals k to complete the electric circuit; the filament g then ignites the flash powder. More than one air bag and switch may be fitted to each alarm.
