Curtains, suspending.-A curtain rod is bodily raised and lowered by cords C, each cord provided at one end with a hook F or two part ring to receive the pole. passing upwardly through an aperture in an overhanging part D of a bracket B, over a pulley K and then downwardly through the attachment part of the bracket which is of channel section. A pulley M may be provided at the lower part of the bracket to guide the cord C when two or more cords are operated together at the centre &c. of the window. In a modification, the overhanging part D is extended and shaped so that two poles can be suspended therefrom. A safety catch slidably secured to the attachment part of the bracket may be provided to prevent the pole falling should an operating cord break.
