Abstract

298,033. Stevenson, A. Feb. 28, 1928. Curtains, suspending. - A curtain rod 1 is bodily raised and lowered by means of cords 27, one at each end, each cord being secured at one end 28 to the rod and passing upwardly through a guide hole 26 in a bracket 23 and then downwardly, through an eye 30 secured in the end of the rod. The shank of the eye rests in a downwardly inclined slot 24 in the bracket 23 which is formed with a projecting portion 25. To lower the rod the free end of the cords 27 are pulled thus raising the rod out of the slots 24 until it abuts the projecting portions 25 when the cords are moved away from the window as shown in Fig. 4, and the rod allowed to fall. The curtain rod is shown provided with a pair of springs 2, carrying curtain hooks 5 depending through a slot in the rod, operated by a cord 12.
