Abstract
310,119. Kelly, T. D. Feb. 13, 1928. Furnace details.-Molten metals and alloys are refined by means of direct current applied between the molten bath which forms the cathode, and an anode above the surface of the bath. Alternating current may be subsequently applied. The direct current is supplied by a differentially wound dynamo, giving a drooping voltage.
