Abstract
308,753. Barbour, P. E., (Assignee of Lyon, H.). March 29, 1928, [Convention date]. Attaching uppers to insoles and soles.-A two-unit welt in strip form is built up of a lower strip 10 of Goodyear welting and a narrower upper strip 14 having an inwardlyfacing shoulder 15. The two units are assembled with their outer edges flush and are cemented together. The welt is attached to the upper and insole by inseam stitching passing only through the strip 10, the inclined edge 15 of the strip 14 being drawn closely against the upper. The outsole is attached by an outseam passing through both units.
