Ornamenting.-P1y-wood for furniture or other constructional purposes is ornamented by the application to its surface of a layer of paper impregnated with synthetic resin, such as a condensation product of phenol and formaldehyde. The paper may be coloured, and may have . any pattern, such as a representation of wood or marble. Additional layers of impregnated paper may be app1ied, and a layer may be applied to the rear surface of the wood, in order to increase its strength and prevent cracking. Specifications 11890/85, 28810/03, [both in Class 145, Wood &c.], and 5515/10 are referred to.
