Galvanic battery electrodes.-The conducting members for small electric batteries, such as pocket lamp and wireless high tension batteries, are soldered to their electrodes by first dipping one or both ends of the conductors in molten solder to form beads or drop-like heads, and immediately or subsequently soldering them to the electrodes by the solder beads on the conductors. The conducting wires a for joining the zinc and carbon electrodes of adjacent cells are first tinned, then dipped at their ends in a flux such as sulphuric acid and then in molten solder such as an alloy of 40 per cent tin and 60 per cent lead to form beads b, b<1>. A contact spring d with a pointed end d<1> may similarly be provided with a solder bead. The wires and one contact spring are then soldered by a soldering-iron &c. to the zinc cells and, after assembling, the bag electrodes are inserted and the wires soldered thereto and a contact spring is soldered to one of the carbon electrodes.
