Abstract
307,361. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. March 5, 1928, [Convention date]. Adhesives.-Cellulose ether solutions contain oxyns such as linoxyn, with or without plastifying or gelatinizing agents, resins, nitrocellulose, organic or inorganic colours &c. Specific additions referred to are p-toluene-sulphamide, tricresyl phosphate, castor oil, and the glycerine ester of colophony. To form the compositions, which may be used for adhesives, a solution of an oxyn is mixed with one of a celulose ether. Solvents such as acetone and amyl acetate which are miscible are preferably used. In examples (1) 2 kgs. of a 5 per cent solution of ethyl cellulose in acetone and 1.5 kgs. of a 20 per cent solution of linoxyn in amyl acetate are mixed together. (2) 2 kgs. of a solution obtained by dissolving 150 gms. of benzyl cellulose in a mixture of 75 gms. of tricresyl phosphate, 700 gms. of acetone and 75 gms. of amyl acetate, are mixed with 700 gms. of a 20 per cent solution of linoxyn in amyl acetate.
