Coated fabrics.-In the process for making a moisture-proof transparent and flexible, material by coating viscose foils of regenerated cellulose with a cellulose ester composition according to the parent Specification, the wax mixture comprising a solid wax, e.g. ceresine and a soft wax or grease, e.g. petroleum jelly, is dissolved in a solvent or mixture of solvents in which nitrocellulose is soluble. Nitrocellulose containing more than 12 per cent of nitrogen is used. Natural or artificial resins or platicizing agents may be added. In examples pyroxylin dissolved in ethyl, butyl, or amyl acetate with or without tricresyl phosphate or castor oil, is incorporated with mixtures of ceresine, stearic acid or carnauba wax and petroleum jelly or wool grease, dissolved in ethyl ether.
