Abstract
306,536. Viardot, L. Feb. 24, 1928, [Convention date]. Ovens; condensation collectors. - Foodstuffs are cooked in a container which is surrounded by the vapour of a boiling liquid, an excess of the liquid being provided in contact with the vapour to prevent the apparatus from becoming overheated. As shown in Fig. 2, the container 1 for the foodstuffs, water, flavouring and the like, is provided with a close-fitting recessed lid 6 in which water or other liquid having the required boiling point is placed. The container is placed upon a heater and is surrounded by a cover 8 which retains the vapour atmosphere and has an inturned gutter 10 which collects condensed vapour. Instead of the lid 6, a liquid container may be placed on an ordinary close-fitting lid.
