Indiarubber, jointing and ornamenting. -In a method of applying an ornamental embossment to a rubber sheet, the sheet of cured or semi-cured rubber 3 is placed on the platen 1 with one or more uncured sheets 4 above it, and a cutting member 5 cuts out the design when the heated top platen 6 is brought down, the knife edges being bevelled on the inside to seal the edges to the bottom sheet 3. The scrap rubber is then removed. Different coloured sheets may be used, and the design may be inflated by means of an inflating needle.
