Electromagnetic and magnetic clutches.-The recording mechanism of a liquid meter of the turbine type is actuated through a magnetized disc G attached to the turbine element F and a thin hardened steel disc N of high hysteresis connected to the recording train; the two discs are separated by a water-tight partition. The driven disc N and the driving disc and turbine element G, F are supported on pivot stems E by ebonite sleeves V resting on two stainless steel balls W of different diameters. Recesses U in the sleeves V and pivot stems E retain lubricant.
