Abstract

305,685. Brownlow, R. S. Aug. 29, 1927. Road-traffic signals on vehicles.-In signalling- apparatus for use on motor-cars and other vehicles of the kind wherein pivoted arms C on both sides of the vehicle are actuated by Bowden wire mechanism operated by two control handles L so deposed as to be capable of joint or independent operation by a single hand, slots 0, P facing the same way for both handles are provided to engage projections M on the handles for holding the arms in two or more operative positions. A housing A is provided for each arm C, and also a driving mirror D fitted with lamps illuminating arrows E, F visible from front and rear, electric switches being actuated by the handles L so that the correct direction arrow is illuminated on both mirrors when either arm C is raised to the horizontal signalling position, and both arrows on both mirrors are illuminated when the stop signal is given by the arms.
