Abstract

Frictionally-seated lids. -The Hange 1, Fig. 1, of the lid of a tin or like container is of varying depth, forming an opening of elliptical shape, and springs directly from the flat top without an intervening shoulder. A lip 3 may be provided at the deepest part of the flange to raise the lid, or an inclined bead 4, Fig. 2, may be provided on the body part of the tin to cause raising of the lid on rotation thereof.
