Plastic compositions containing oxychlorides.- Relates to process for the manufacture of oxychloride cement compositions in which a bituminous aqueous emulsion is incorporated in the cement. According to the invention the concentration of the magnesium chloride solution is so regulated, in relation to the water content of the dispersion, that the final mixture has a water content approximately equal to that which would form, with the magnesium chloride present, a solution of the concentration which is optimal for the hardening process when no bitumen is present, i.e. a concentration of about 20-22‹ BÚ. This water regulation allows of divergent and predetermined quantities of bitumen to be incorporated in the products. In an example 8.8 kilos of a dry mixture containing about 60 per cent of calcined magnesite and 40 per cent of sawdust or other filling, e.g. paint, is mixed with a solution of 3.5. kilos of magnesium chloride in 4.15 kilos of water. To this mass 0.88 kilos of a bitumen dispersion containing 50 per cent of water is added. The total water content would form with the magnesium chloride a solution of 21.3‹ BÚ. A paste is obtained containing 5 per cent of bitumen by weight of the dry materials. Other examples are given. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also compositions containing aqueous emulsions of oily or fatty substances or of resins. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
