Coating and filling compound It has been found that thin,
aqueous bituminous dispersions, which with the help of water-insoluble distribution agents,
So without soaps or alkalis or emulsifying salts, are made by
Addition of small amounts of ILselguhr to excellent thick spreading and leveling compounds
can handle. For example, an addition of 6 ° diatomaceous earth is sufficient,
a thin-bodied bitumen emulsion of around 50% made with clay as an emulsifier
to be thickened so that it can be filled with a spatula. This was particularly surprising
because it is the most commonly used with soap or alkali or salty ones
Bituminous EmtilR sionen the trade is not possible with ti a p diatomaceous earth
to achieve thickening effect. The peculiar effect of kieselguhr just at
the dispersions prepared with insoluble dispersants can therefore
not explain from the known absorption capacity of kieselguhr for liquids,
especially because the amount of water is eight times the amount of kieselguhr.
naplithensaurem Natrium, fettsaurem Alkali, harzsaurem Alkali, asphaltogensaurem
Beispiele i.
6 °i, Huminsäure und d.6 Gewichtsteilen
Wasser bestehenden Dispersion
61/, Kieselgur zumischt.
By adding from 1 to 6% diatomaceous earth, easily processable products are obtained
Coating or leveling compounds, for example, in those dispersions that use
of clay, bentonite, bolus, calcium carbonate, aluminum livdroxvd, iron livdroxvd, insoluble lignic acids,
Humic acids or materials containing these acids, insoluble lignin or
liumate salts and the like have been produced. On the other hand it is not possible
similarly thickened, d. H. mixtures that can be used as coating compounds and fillers
Using such emulsions, which with the help of, for example, Epsom salts,
Naplithic acid sodium, fatty acid alkali, resin acid alkali, asphaltic acid
Alkali are emulsified. Since in the present method of operation the thickening is sufficient
The amount of diatomaceous earth is only a fifth to seventh part of the amount of other thickening agents,
such as oarzmehl, asbestos or amorphous silica, are the
The good properties of the bitumen are not impaired in any way by this small addition.
The elasticity, water-repellent power and the impermeability of bitumen
for acids are completely retained, while surprisingly the temperature resistance
of bitumen in dried paint is significantly increased. Examples i. One
excellent filler with a heat resistance of up to i30 '' receives inan,
if to one of 50 parts by weight of petroleum pitch of 30 ° Krämer-Sarnow softening point,
6 ° i, humic acid and d.6 parts by weight
Water existing dispersion
61 /, kieselguhr mixed in. A mixture that is equally stiff, i.e. easy to fill with a spatula
with help of a. It would be necessary to obtain other material from this dispersion
For example, 50 /, quartz powder or 4o '/, asbestos powder apply, whereby
the property of the bitumen is greatly deteriorated.
Kieselgur zugibt. Das Zumischen der Kieselgur kann ohne Anwendung von Apparaten
an der Baustelle erfolgen.2. A coating paste that can be applied up to 1/2 cm thick on vertical surfaces
can be painted and which is temperature resistant up to i4o ° after drying, although
the bitumen used has a Krämer-Sarnow softening point of only 30 °
one, if one on 100 parts by weight of the dispersion mentioned in Example i 4%
Diatomite admits. The addition of kieselguhr can be done without the use of any apparatus
take place at the construction site.
Man
A dispersion of about 50% made from clay and soft tar pitch
is processed in a mill or in a mixer with 5% kieselguhr. Man
receives a putty compound that does not show any cracks after drying.
To 500 parts by weight of the leveling compounds mentioned in example i
14o parts by weight of sand and 14o parts by weight of basalt chippings are added. Through the admixture
These materials become the leveling compound without being affected by the addition of kieselguhr
to lose the increased temperature resistance gained, at the same time even more resistant
against mechanical stress, so it can not only be used for filling walls, but
can also be used as flooring and the like in rooms at risk of acid attack.
eignet, die darauf noch säurefest ausgemauert werden.5. 100 parts by weight of an emulsion made with the help of humic acid
or their analogues is produced as an emulsifier and contains 50% bitumen
with 2 parts by weight of asbestos fibers, 5 parts by weight of asbestos flour and 2 parts by weight
Diatomaceous earth mixed. An insulating compound is obtained that is ideal for production
Adhesive sealing layers with a high softening point on the concrete walls of containers
suitable, which are then lined with acid-proof bricks.
Mauerwerksschichten.6. 100 parts by weight of an emulsion made with humic acid
or their analogs is produced as an emulsifier and contains 50 01o bitumen
with 20 parts by weight of a finely powdered, by melting together the same
Parts by weight of asphalt and ouarzmehf, prepared mixture and with 2 parts by weight
Asbestos fibers and 2 parts by weight of kieselguhr mixed. Instead of the asphalt and oar mixture
can also be pure, finely powdered asphalt or tar pitch with a high softening point
be taken. This mixture is particularly suitable for the production of isolated
Layers of masonry.
