Abstract

303,595. Dobson, C. G., and Windridge, W. Oct. 26, 1927. Haymaking.-In a side-delivery rake, swathturner, or like harvesting-machine the raking devices are carried by a frame at a permanent inclination to the line of travel of the machine and the main wheels are mounted at the ends of this frame so as to be at equal distances from the ends of the raking devices. The rake 2 of usual construction is supported by a frame comprising two converging side members 3 and a rear member 6. The member 6 is arranged parallel to the rake 2 and forms the axle beam for two main wheels 7, S. The wheels are thus positioned at equal distances from their appropriate ends of the rake. The shafts 14, 17, adapted to drive through ratchet and pawl mechanism from the wheels 7, 8, respectively, actuate, the raking devices, a clutch operated by a hand-lever 24 being provided.
