Spiked plates.-Wooden members of trusses and lattice girders are connected by gusset plates 7, or straps 7<1>, Figs. 1 and 2, which engage over the hubs of claw plates 5, Fig. 3, and are connected by bolts 8. The hubs may be provided on the plates 7 or 7<1> and engages recesses in the claw plates, and the straps 7<1> may be separately articulated to the central claw plate. For two or more thicknesses, intermediate double claw plates, Figs. 6 and 7, are used, the hub 6 of one claw plate penetrating the plate 7<1> and the other claw plate. The teeth of the claw plates are triangular in section and have the faces parallel to the axis placed alternately inside and outside. Aligned members may be similarly connected to, and on each side of, a main member.
