Abstract

303,138. Silica Gel Corporation, (Assignees of Connolly, G. C., and Miller, E. B.). Dec. 30, 1927, [Convention date]. Silica. - In preparing gels of silica, oxides of aluminium, titanium, tungsten &c. the hydrogel is washed with water heated to a temperature of 105-175‹ F. whereby after drying a gel is obtained the apparent density of which is less effected by high temperature reactivation. The apparent density of the gel is less the higher the temperature of the washing water made use of. Specifications 136,543; 212,065, [Class 1 (iii), Oxides &c., Metallic], and 216,504 are referred to.
