Abstract

302,694. Associated Telephone & Telegraph Co. Dec. 20, 1927, [Convention date]. Desk and table sets.-In a desk telephone set, the bell or like calling device is mounted on the base in such a manner that accessibility for adjustment is facilitated. As shown in Fig. 2, the set has a cover C with a sloping front adjusted to carry the dial switch CD. The bell B, Fig. 4, is supported by a bracket 11 in such a position that it is parallel to the sloping front of the cover and. is thereby readily accessible for the adjustment of the bell compartments when the cover is removed. The cover has a hinge 30 which fits into slots 31 in the base 10 and has a clip 32 adapted to engage a spring 33. The base also carries an induction coil IC and condenser CN and the cradle switch &c. is connected to the components on the base by a cable 29. Sound apertures 27 are provided in the cover C. The hammer 15, adapted to oscillate between two gongs 13, is carried by a pivoted armature one position of which relatively to the magnet cores may be adjusted by nuts 19. The cradle switch may be of the type described in Specification 253,709, and selecting keys of the type used in intercommunication systems may be employed instead of the dial switch CD.
