Colour photography, screens for. - Coloured particles for making multicolour screens are produced by dyeing threads of natural or artificial silk, embedding them in a substance such as paraffin wax, feeding the embedded threads to a microtome, and dissolving the wax or like substance out from the particles so produced by a solvent such as benzene, carbon tetrachloride, or trichlorethylene. The screen is prepared by spreading a mixture of such particles, coloured, for example, orange, green, violet, on a plate or film coated with adhesive varnish such as rubber solution, and consolidating by rolling. Any interstices left between the particles may be filled with fine powder such as pulverized charcoal.
