Abstract
300,879. Kramer, E., and Hartstoff- Metall Akt.-Ges. Hametag. April 27, 1928. Metal powder. - Metal powder i made by delivering small metal granules of plate form from a hopper 11 to a cylin drical casing 1 in which angularly and longitudinally spaced arms 6 mounted on a shaft 4 are rapidly rotated. The arms are of such a length as to leave only a small tip clearance and their number and the length of the casing may be such that powder of the required size is produced in one passage of the granules through the machine. A beltdriven worm 12 may be used to charge the casing. Plugs 7, 8 with ports 9, 10 are provided in the end walls of the casing so that the supply of granules and the delivery of powder may be regulated. The beating action may be effected in an inert atmosphere, the shaft bearing then being suitably packed. The casing may be of hardened steel, or a lining of hardened sheet steel may be fitted.
