300,690. Fitzpatrick, H. D., (Marquette Tool & Manufacturing Co.). Aug. 18, 1927. Stamping and embossing.-In a drawing-press a die 15, reciprocated with constant stroke from cranks 14, co-operates with a die 16 mounted on a resilient bolster. The bolster comprises a piston 20 located in a cylinder 18 by bolts 23. An hydraulic tank 27 supplies pressure to the cylinder. When a thick plate is between the dies. damage to the press is prevented by the piston forcing liquid through an adjustable spring-controlled valve back to the tank. The die 16 is restored to normal position by liquid returning to the cylinder through a flap-valve.
