Abstract
300,396. Best & Lloyd, Ltd., and Best, R. D. Nov. 22, 1927. Electric radiators.-In artificial fires in which a flickering effect is desired, air or other gas or vapour is bubbled through a liquid having a free surface through which light from a lamp d passes before reaching a translucent screen e. The containing vessel for the liquid may - comprise two glass vessels a, b connected by a tube c, the ebullition effect being obtained by the heating of the vessel b by the lamp d. The liquid may be coloured, or a coloured or opaque slotted screen f may be interposed between the lamp and the liquid. A layer o of hammered or muffled glass may be arranged beneath the screen e. The heating elements i of the fire are separated thermally from the flicker-producing device by an air space k and an asbestos or like partition j.
