Abstract

300,150. Ach, N. Aug. 5, 1927. Associated counters. - A number or group of revolution counters 20, 21, 22, Fig. 1 is adapted to be operated selectively from a rotating shaft 1 at different speed ranges thereof, by a tappet lever 11 which is brought automatically and selectively into operative relation with the counters according to the speed of the shaft 1. The position of the lever 11 is controlled by a stepped cam disc 7 the angular position of which is automatically determined by the angular speed of the shaft 1. The cam 7 acts on a spring-controlled arm 8 to which the lever is pivoted. The lever 11 is operated to actuate one or other of the pawls 23, 24, 25 of the counters by a disc 13 on the shaft 1 and a pin 15 thereon, which rocks a lever 16, 17 on each revolution of the shaft 1. The disc 13 also carries a pin 14 which synchronously rocks the arm 8 and so prevents any locking when a section of the cam of larger radius comes into position. Two modified constructions of apparatus are, described. In one of these a series of counters is circularly arranged and adapted to be selectively operated by a tappet arm, the angular position of which is automatically adjusted according to the speed of rotation of the shaft whose operation at different speeds is to be registered. In another modification the counters are vertically arranged and operated by vertical spring-controlled rods.
