Operating doors pneumatically.-Silo doors 16, actuated through rods 16<b> from a shaft 15 rocked by the movement of a piston in a cylinder 2 supplied with fluid through a valve chamber 1 from a supply pipe 3, are adjusted by a hand control 18. The control 18 is connected to a lever 7 mounted on a pivot 11 projecting from a bell-crank 10 pivoted on a pin 12 and connected by a link 13 to an arm 14 projecting from the shaft 15. The other end of the lever 7, which is formed as an eye through which the pin 12 passes, is connected by a link 8 to a lever 6 actuating the supply valve. This valve, Fig. 3, has a member 4 normally closing the supply passage and a member 5 that closes the outlet. A spring 20 normally maintains the hand control in its highest position. On moving the control downwards to a desired position the levers 7 and 6 are rocked about their pivots and the valve 5 closed and the valve 4 opened; fluid passes into the cylinder and causes the shaft 15 to be rocked and the silo doors opened; the arm 14 is raised and the bell-crank member 10 rocked through its connection therewith by the link 13. As the point 17 of the lever 7 is held stationary by the hand control 18 the lever 7 is caused to rock about this point actuating the valve through the lever 6 to close the 'supply member 4. The piston then remains stationary in the cylinder with the door open the required amount. When the hand control is allowed to return to its original position under the action of the spring 20 the lever 7 swings about its pivot 11 and the outlet valve 5 is actuated permitting the piston to fall in the cylinder 2 and the door of the silo to close.
