Abstract

299,287. Union Special-Maschinenfabrik Ges. Nov. 22, 1927, [Convention date]. frames.-The bed-structure of a sewing machine contains the main shaft and has a detachably mounted overhanging arm. The bed 1 is U-shaped with both ends open and has a partition 5 with a bearing 6 for the main shaft 8. The opening 7 carries a bush 10 with a second bearing for the shaft adjacent the belt pulley 11. The other end is closed by the plate 13. The top is closed by a throat plate 14, in which work the looper 12 and feed-dog 15, and a plate 16 having a latch 18. The overhanging arm 20 containing the needle bar 21 and its actuating mechanism is attached to the bed by bolts 26 which are accessible through the coverplate 27.
