Abstract
298,990. Siemens & Halske Akt.- Ges. Oct. 18, 1927, [Convention date]. Inductances.-In radio apparatus having associated circuits including inductance coils, inequalities of manufacture are compensated for and the inductances of the coils equalized by adjustment of a ring or disc of good conducting material within the coil, the ring &c. being positively fixed in position once and for all when the adjustment has been made. A jointless copper ring 4 cut from a tube may be adjusted inside a cylindrical coil 2 in a conductive shield 3. A rod 5 allows adjustment of the inductance without removing the shield 3, and is finally fixed in position by bending and soldering to the shield 3. In a modification, the coil is not shielded and a copper disc axially adjusted within the coil is carried by a rod held by a set-screw in an end-plate of the coil-former.
